What is a Studio Session like?
Laub Media Group’s professional studio portrait sessions are designed to make you feel comfortable and yourself in front of the camera. We are confident we can make you look your best, and have fun doing it. Your session is tailored to you, and we provide clear direction to ensure the best possible photos/video of you. For your convenience we offer water and coffee, as well as an in studio changing room and mirrors.
Where is the Laub Media Group studio located?
Our bright, spacious studio is a private, historic space located on the third floor of The Square in downtown Lexington facing both Broadway and the Lexington Opera House. You have easy access to garage or on-street parking.
Who are these sessions for?
These sessions work well for individuals, families, and professionals who want portraits that feel natural and lasting. You don’t need experience in front of a camera. If you value high quality and a professional, fun experience where our focus is fully on you, we'll likely enjoy working together.
How should I prepare for a session?
We want your session to reflect who you are and your intention for these images, so first we like to hear from you. Once your session is scheduled, you'll receive simple guidance on wardrobe and preparation from our Studio Manager. Clean lines, thoughtful textures, classic colors, and clothing that fits well tend to photograph best. We are happy to review options if you’d like.
How long will my session take?
Most full sessions last between one hour to ninety minutes. This allows time to settle in, make the small adjustments that reap big benefits, potentially make an outfit change, and create portraits that feel finished rather than rushed.
Mini sessions last around 30-40 minutes.
How private is the session?
Sessions are completely private in our exclusive space, and discretion is always respected. Images are never shared publicly without permission.
When will I receive my images?
We strive to meet your expectations and we will listen to your needs prior to your session. The process is straightforward and handled with care on an individual client basis, so we can deliver you the best work possible. For the average studio portrait session we like to have around 2 weeks to process your images, but more often than not that timeframe is shorter.
How many images will I receive?
You will receive a curated collection of finished images that will vary in number based on the type of session and the client's needs. We focus on quality over quantity — each image is selected with intention because it stands on its own. Communication with you ahead of time ensures your needs are met.
Will the portraits be edited?
Yes. Our editing and retouching process is clean, subtle, and natural, with nothing trendy or heavy-handed. We want you to look like yourself on a very good day and enjoy your portraits for years to come.
Are these portraits meant for personal or professional use?
Both. These portraits are created to live well over time - whether in your home, your office, or for professional materials. The focus is on images that age gracefully.
How does pricing work?
Pricing reflects the time, preparation, and care involved in each session. Full details are shared upfront in your scheduling process so you can decide comfortably whether it’s the right fit. A deposit is required to book.
How far in advance should I book?
Booking at least a few weeks ahead is recommended. We keep our schedule intentionally balanced so each client receives full attention and sessions are not rushed.
What if I need to bring my small children?
We're all parents ourselves - children are welcome here! They can enjoy our ‘kids cart’ to help them relax and have fun. If your children are having their portrait made, it's important that they are well rested and fed prior to their session.
What if I want to do my session outside of the studio?
Our studio is conveniently located within walking distance of several gorgeous parks and other outdoor spaces. Additional time and locations can be discussed prior to your session. We enjoy shooting with nature, and outside locations are an option with an additional travel and gear fee. Our approach of care and attention to detail does not change outside of the studio.
Can you bring Studio Sessions to my business?
Yes! Several of our repeat clients utilize our 'mobile studio' with which we can deliver the same level of quality in a location that works for your entire organization.
